Moyle Rovers 1-19, Eire Og Annacarty 1-07.
Moyle Rovers reached the County semi-finals of the Senior Football Championship by powering past Eire Og Annacarty in a dominant 2nd half performance which served notice of their intentions regarding the County title. For Eire Og Annacarty they now enter the relegation play-offs to save their Senior status, on top of trying to maintain their Dan Breen status in Senior Hurling.
The West side began positively with early points from Brian Fox, Dinny Crosse (free) and Paul Devlin against a hat-trick of points from Liam Boland to be level 0-3 apiece after the first quarter. The game was pedestrian enough with both sides seemly going through the motions. After the water break, Moyle Rovers began to get moving with 3 points from Liam Boland(2) and Tadgh Fitzgerald with Dinny Crosse (free) replying for Eire Og. Shane Foley and Dinny Crosse (free) swapped points before David McGrath and Tadgh Fitzgerald closed out the first half scoring to leave Moyle Rovers ahead 0-9 to 0-5 .
Eire Og Annacarty needed scores to settle back into the game for the 2nd half, and they duly got off to a flier when a Donal O'Dwyer shot was scrambled into the net inside 55 seconds. However this only galvanised Moyle Rovers into action and they duly turned on the power to put any notion of an Eire Og revival when Riain Quigley finished a sweeping move to the back of Michael Ryan's net within 3 minutes. From then on it was one-way traffic as Liam Boland and Shane Foley racked off the points with only Dinny Crosse (free) and Kev Fox replying for a shell-shocked Eire Og as the South side duly ran out comfortable winners 1-19 to 1-07 at Derek O'Mahoney's full-time whistle.
